Entering the MTC

We Slid into the MTC home Dec 29 on 3-4 inches of heavy wet beautiful snow with 80 other senior missionaries.

A couple coming in on I-15 did become involved in a 3 car pileup but managed to still get to the MTC on time with the help of a patrol car. Heavenly Father protect his servants.

Besides us going to the Philippians there are a few couples that will be going to South Africa, Ukraine, Sibo Philippine, Russia, and a senior “sister” couple will be headed for the Congo!!! Most of the other senior missionaries will be either stay at home missionaries in the area , USA bond missions or those going to work in the historical or genealogy libraries in Salt Lake. This is the first time they have had this many stay at home senior missionaries.

Our first day at the MTC involved, being assigned our rooms, which is like a hotel room, orientation, cafeteria eating, and personal study from Preach My Gospel for tomorrows classes. All classes were done by 3:30 today but regular class day will start at 8:00 till 4:30. We are so excited to be here and the Spirit is so strong.

I appreciated this opportunity to have similar experiences that Mark and Shand had as young adults entering the mission home. I have great admiration for them both. (Sister Watson)

Christmas in Salt Lake City

Dec 24th, 2014: Christmas eve we spent touring temple square. It was packed, but so fun watching all the families walking around looking at the light and touring Temple Square. There must have been every nationality and from new born to ninety years old out and about. What a beautiful sight to see so many families on Christmas Eve learning of the true meaning of Christmas! Words cannot explain the beauty of the temple surrounded by all the Christmas lights. I would have given every thing to have had all my children, children in law and grandchildren with us,that would have been perfect!!!. The sister missionaries, must be eight or ten live right next to us.They were busy Christmas Eve and had a few hrs off Christmas day but were back at Temple Square by afternoon, giving tours and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Families even with the snow were out Christmas day and evening, people were still mulling around at 10 Pm, we are so close to Temple Square that many people park their cars on our street and walk. Santa still found us in SLC, Woke up to a Christmas tree on the computer and Christmas music. What a man!!!!! Love him so much! It snowed here for Christmas which made the lights and scenery even that more beautiful. Spent the whole day in bed trying to get rid of this cold which must of helped cause I feel a bit better today. We watched movies and Christmas dinner consisted of chicken wings, fruit and veg tray, olives and cheese. A little different than the traditional meal but we were braking ourselves into next years Christmas!! We are planning to go to the temple today. I appreciate being able to attend the temple what a blessing for us as members of the church, In the tourists information center one of the areas explains the plan Heavenly Father has for families and then has a replica of the Salt Lake temple and shows all the floors, what is in the temple and what each room is used for. I felt so blessed that I and Mark have the privilege to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and are also worth to be able to attend the temple but most of all know that we are seal to each other and have had our children sealed to us and will have a family relationship with them for an eternity. How blessed we are and pray each day that each of our children will have the same desire. No matter how far apart we are whether in life or death our family can not be taken from us!!!! I miss you so much and am counting the days when we can see each other again!!!! Have a great Christmas Holiday and you are on my mind each day. Mahal Ka, Sister Watson
